SERVICE BROKEN SPRING REPAIR
Broken torsion or extension spring? CBJ replaces garage door springs for Waco-area homes and balances the door so it lifts smoothly and safely.

01 THE WORK BEHIND THE RESULT
02 THE SHORT ANSWER
Springs do the heavy lifting on a garage door. A typical two-car door weighs well over a hundred pounds, and the springs counterbalance that weight so the opener, or your arm, only has to guide it. Most residential doors use torsion springs mounted on a bar above the opening; some older or lighter doors use extension springs that run along the horizontal tracks.
Every spring is rated for a set number of open-and-close cycles, so springs eventually wear out and break, often with a loud bang. When that happens the door becomes too heavy for the opener to lift safely.
CBJ Overhead Door Company replaces broken garage door springs for homeowners in Waco, Woodway, Hewitt, Robinson, Lorena, McGregor, China Spring, and the surrounding area. Blake sizes the new springs to your door, sets the tension, balances the door, and checks the cables, rollers, and opener so the repair lasts.
03 A GOOD FIT FOR
04 HOW CBJ APPROACHES IT
Leave the door down, disconnect the opener if it is straining, and call Blake with what you see.
CBJ measures the door weight and spring size so the replacement springs are rated for your door.
The door is balanced, cables and rollers are checked, and the opener is tested before handoff.
05 SERVICE QUESTIONS
Common signs are a loud bang from the garage, a door that will not open or only lifts a few inches, a gap in the coiled spring above the door, or a door that feels very heavy when lifted by hand.
On doors with two torsion springs, both are usually the same age and have used about the same number of cycles, so replacing them as a pair keeps the door balanced. Blake will explain what your door needs.
It is safest to leave the door closed. Springs carry most of the door's weight, and forcing it open with the opener can damage the motor or cause the door to drop.
